We're seeking a driven, people-focused General Manager with construction experience and a sales leadership background to run our client's Fort Wayne and Indianapolis locations. Reporting directly to the owners, you'll take ownership of daily operations and long-term growth, leading two Service Managers, a Customer Service Manager, and five to six Field Technicians who install motorized screens and awnings, three-season rooms, and screened-in porches, and handle window and door screen repairs.

General Manager Responsibilities:
  • Run day-to-day operations across both locations: people, equipment, vehicles, scheduling, and field activity
  • Own revenue, cost management, profitability, and KPIs
  • Oversee project schedules, labor hours, and inventory to keep work on time and on budget
  • Build efficient, scalable processes across both markets
  • Meet with prospects and referral partners, prepare quotes, manage the pipeline, and close new business
  • Build relationships with residential and commercial builders, contractors, and complementary businesses
  • Represent the company at trade associations, tradeshows, and networking events
  • Coach and develop Service Managers, crew leaders, and technicians
  • Recruit, onboard, train, and reward employees in line with company values
  • Build an accountable, high-performing culture
  • Coordinate projects from planning through completion, with proactive customer and crew communication
  • Review completed work against specifications and quality standards
  • Champion a strong safety culture, including training on proper use of tools, equipment, and vehicles

General Manager Profile:
  • 5+ years of construction-related experience, preferably in exterior improvements, remodeling, or new construction
  • 5+ years of sales and business development experience, preferably in the same areas
  • Proven experience managing crews and projects from start to finish
  • Strong leadership, communication, organization, and problem-solving skills
  • Sound judgment, a strong work ethic, and unquestionable integrity
  • Comfort with scheduling and business technology (Jobber)
  • Valid driver's license, insurable driving record, and reliable transportation
  • Willingness to work extended hours, including evenings and weekends, during the March–November busy season (roughly 50–60 hours per week at peak)
  • Willingness to travel to Indianapolis as needed

General Manager Benefits:
  • Base salary, based on experience
  • Commission on net sales and performance bonuses
  • Potential opportunity to earn ownership
  • Healthcare coverage and paid vacation
  • Company vehicle, tools, cell phone, laptop, and iPad
  • Corporate credit card for approved business expenses

Why This Role?
You'll have a direct, lasting impact on two growing locations, with real responsibility, supportive owners, and training and resources to succeed. For the right candidate, there's also a potential path to business ownership.
